Schlieren imaging video: Launch

Schlieren video of a pulse burst generated by a 5 MHz curved array. The beam is aimed at an angle from the vertical, using the maximum aperture available. This causes a distortion in that the elements on the left must fire well in advance of the rest, and their intrinsic directivity causes a large sidelobe visible at the beginning of the pulse, to the left.
