Choosing a Hydrophone

For a focusing ultrasonic transducer, the above relationship may
still be used. For an ultrasonic transducer with a non-circular
element, the above relationship may be used by replacing a1 by
one half the maximum ultrasonic transducer dimension or
ultrasonic transducer element group dimension.
As an example, consider a circular F/2 transducer (i.e., whose
focal distance is twice the value of its diameter). In this case l =
4a1 so the hydrophone radius should be approximately half of
the wavelength.
